July 19, 2010: In June an Australian paper (www.theage.com) reported about the findings of a Belgian survey on the role of nurses in physician assisted deaths in Belgium. By using the wrong words they suggested a huge misbehaviour of Belgian doctors and nurses: 50% of all euthanasia-cases were non-voluntary, and 20% of all nurses had been involved in non-voluntary euthanasia cases.
May 12, 2010: Hilary Young, a professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa, in a Letter to the Editor of the Ottawa Citizen refutes the many times (mis)used argument of "slippery slope".
April 23, 2010: The second reading on Canada's bill C-384 to permit assisted suicide under strict conditions has resulted in a rejection, Wednesday April 21, 2010. The margin was 228 - 59.
April 19, 2010: The TV film "You don't know Jack" on Jack Kevorkian is aired in the USA on HBO on Saturday, April 24, from 9 to 11.15 pm ET/PT. Oscar winners Al Pacino and Susan Sarandon will star in this film, directed by Oscar winner Barry Levinson.
April 16, 2010: CTV News Montreal has recently (March 31, 2010) aired a Special Report called "Last Wish", concerning the ongoing public and political debate on euthanasia in Canada. Interviewer Debra Arbec sat down with those facing death and their doctors – the people who make the most profound arguments.
March 19, 2010: The Canadian private members Euthanasia bill C-384 of Francine Lalonde received another hour of debate in the Parliament on March 16th. Because the Parliament was adjourned in January and February, this debate must be seen as a first reading (although in October 2009 such a debate already started). The second hour is now expected to take place sometime in May this year.
March 5, 2010: In Canada the discussion on legalizing euthanasia has developped. Both Federal Parliament and the National Assembly of French province Quebec haven been discussing the issue. In the folowing a summary of what is going on is given, including some links to usefull articles.

February 14, 2010: Susan Bracken, a member of the Right to Die Society of Canada has published a novel that incorporates the issue of assisted dying within a framework of universal fiction themes: the protagonist overcomes neglect and abuse in her young life to achieve riches and fame and she finds true love.
