Healthcare professionals organized in UK

On October 14 a group of Healthcare professionals, chaired by Dr Ann McPherson CBE, a Dignity in Dying Patron, was formed.

The group, under the name Healthcare Professionals for Change, states "...healthcare professionals have a duty of care to their patients, which informs our belief that people should not have to suffer against their wishes at the end of life. Alongside access to good quality end-of-life care and the right to refuse medical treatment, we believe that terminally ill, mentally competent adults should have the choice of an assisted death, subject to safeguards....", and therefore calls for support.
